St. Louis Regional Semi Finalist
S.W.A.T. Attended the Greater Kansas City regional and preformed well making it to the quarter finals but being eliminated after 3 matches. S.W.A.T. won 7, lost 5, and tied 1 in their matches.
At the St. Louis Regional the team made it to the Finals but were defeated after 2 matches. S.W.A.T. won 12, lost 7, and tied 1 matches.

S.W.A.T. attended the
Greater Kansas City Regional
on February 26-28. The team
was 7-0 and ranked 1st
overall out of 61 teams
attending the regional after
the qualifying rounds. Team
#1806 advanced through the
3-game rounds of the
tournament with teams 931
and 1208 to win the regional
for the second year in a
row. S.W.A.T. won the
General Motors Industrial
Design Award as well.
Team #1806 attended the St.
Louis Regional on March
17-19. The team was ranked
3rd overall out of 36 robots
attending the regional after
the qualifying rounds. The
'S.W.A.T. bot' and its
alliance advanced to the
last round of the semifinals
until being knocked out.

Award
Motorola Quality Award
The goal of 2008's game Overdrive was to
score points by lifting/throwing
balloon-like balls over a rack while
attempting to prevent the other team
from doing the same. Additional points
were gained if a team had any balls left
on the rack at the end of the match.
S.W.A.T. was ranked 19th overall out of
the 55 schools attending the Greater
Kansas City Regional after the
qualifying matches. The team worked
their way through the best 2 out of 3
elimination bracket with teams 476 and
1802 to become a part of the final
round. The alliance consisting of those
three teams won the final and received
the Greater Kansas City Regional Winner
Award. Team #1806 received the Johnson &
Johnson Gracious Professionalism Award
as well.
S.W.A.T. was ranked 3rd overall out of
the 39 schools attending the Oklahoma
City Regional after the qualifying
matches. The team worked their way
through the best 2 out of 3 elimination
bracket with teams 2165 and 2354 to
become a part of the final round. This
alliance also won, and they received the
Oklahoma City Regional Winner Award. In
the process, S.W.A.T. also received the
Motorola Quality Award.

Finalist Award
The 2007 Robot was built to take pool rings and
place them on the hooks of a rack using its claw
with an attached arm. While this is happening, the
other teams' robots are trying to block it or remove
the rings once they were placed on the hooks.
S.W.A.T. made it all the way to the final round in
the 2007 Kansas City Regional.
The Smithville Robotics team attended the Kansas
City Regional Competition at Hale Arena on March
15-17, 2007.
S.W.A.T. was ranked 3rd overall out of the 40+
schools attending after the qualifying matches and
worked their way through the best 2 out of 3
elimination bracket to become a part of the final
round. They received the Kansas City Divisional
Finalist Award.

Rookie Inspiration Award
The 2006 Robot was designed to shoot foam balls through a
donut that was 10 feet in the air, much like basketball.
This robot and the skill of the team made it possible for
the team to win the Rookie Inspiration Award in the 2006
Chicago Competition.
